IQF blast freezer for efficient rapid freezing

Impact-type freezers use high-speed air jets directed at the top and bottom surfaces of food products to remove the insulating air and thermal barrier around the product.

Product Overview

The impact freezer uses high-velocity air jets directed at the top and bottom surfaces of food products to remove the insulating air and thermal barrier surrounding them. Once this heat layer is eliminated, the products freeze faster. This process significantly reduces processing time, achieving freezing speeds comparable to low-temperature equipment, while operational costs remain similar to conventional machinery.

The freezer conveyor can be either a stainless-steel solid belt or a mesh belt:

  • Solid SS belt: Ideal for flat or soft products such as burger patties, fish fillets, and shellfish, without leaving belt marks on the product.

  • Mesh belt: Perfect for granular products such as shrimp, ready-to-eat packaged foods, and similar items.

Equipment Performance

  • Freezes small, thin products up to 25 mm thick and larger products up to 200 mm thick in the fastest and most cost-effective way

  • Maximizes output while keeping dehydration equal to or lower than conventional low-temperature freezing

  • Optimal air velocity through the evaporator for maximum heat transfer, frosting control, and overall performance

  • Rapid cooling and pre-chilling; hygienically designed structure ensures quick turnover without compromising thorough cleaning

Applications

Widely used for quick-freezing strip, cube, or grain-shaped foods such as shrimp, small shrimp, fish fillets, meat dumplings, minced meat, pork tongue, chicken, asparagus, and yam powder.
